| Chinese 18th century blue and white porcelain pickle dish |
| Qianlong blue and white soft paste porcelain leaf moulded pickle dish, based on a european design and pattern. Painted in underglaze blue to show 2 of the three winter friends - prunus and bamboo. Painting of the highest quality as is the potting and moulding to show a vine leaf with veins and 'texture'. The piece is supported on 3 small pad feet.
This is a Rare item and especialaly so as it is in such an excellent condition
Soft paste porcelain in china was produced by firing at a lower temperature than the normal temperature not by changing the porcelain composition as in Europe, where in Britain and some parts of europe this was the case. |
